Pricing

Rate × nodes. That's the model.

You're billed per data node, per month. Not per gigabyte ingested, not per query, not per seat. Every cluster starts at 2 nodes, so the figures below are what a running cluster actually costs.

Extreme doubles Standard's compute and memory and quadruples its storage, for double the price. It's also the only tier that scales past two nodes, to ten, and every node bills at the same rate, so ten Extreme nodes is ten times one. There is no add-on tariff and no volume tier to negotiate.

Not on your invoice

The things other vendors meter.

Coordinator nodes and Dashboards are part of the cluster, not line items. Ingest is unlimited, and so is reading it back out. There is no per-gigabyte charge for data leaving the cluster. Support is included on every tier rather than sold as a plan.

  • OpenSearch Dashboards
  • Ingest volume
  • Network egress
  • Queries and API calls
  • User seats

Compared

The same logs, four bills.

450 GB of logs a month, about 450 million lines at a kilobyte each, read by five engineers. On a two-node Standard cluster that is a fixed rate. Everywhere else the meter is running on some part of it.
