You’re billed per node, per month. Not per gigabyte ingested, not per query, not per seat. Every cluster starts at 3 nodes, so the figures below are what a running cluster actually costs.

Advanced has four times Standard’s compute and memory and eight times its storage, for four times the price. It’s also the only tier that scales past three nodes, to ten, and every node bills at the same rate, so ten Advanced nodes is ten times one. There is no add-on tariff and no volume tier to negotiate.
The things other vendors meter.
Coordinator nodes and Dashboards are part of the cluster, not line items. Ingest isn’t metered, and neither is reading it back out. There is no per-gigabyte charge for data leaving the cluster. Support is included on every tier rather than sold as a plan.

Compared
The same logs, four bills.
450 GB of logs a month, about 450 million lines at a kilobyte each, read by five engineers. On a three-node Standard cluster that is a fixed rate. Everywhere else the meter is running on some part of it.
It’s faster, too. Under real-world load, a ClusterNest Standard cluster served 2.5 times the queries per second and twice the ingest of the equivalent Amazon OpenSearch Service cluster. See the benchmark.

- AWS: i4i.large.search at $0.275 per hour on demand in US East (N. Virginia), three data nodes, 730 hours. Dedicated cluster manager nodes and data transfer are on top.
- Datadog: $0.10 per ingested GB, plus $1.70 per million indexed events on an annual commitment, which buys up to 15 days of retention. 30 days is quote-only.
- New Relic: Data Plus at $0.60 per GB beyond the free 100 GB, plus one full platform user at $10 and four more at $99 on the Standard edition.

500,000 active series scraped every 30 seconds and kept for 90 days: 43.8 billion samples a month, about 16,700 a second. On a three-node Standard cluster that is a fixed rate. Everywhere else the meter is running on samples, series or queries.

- AWS: US East (N. Virginia). Ingest is the first 40 million samples free, $0.90 per 10 million to 2 billion, then $0.35 per 10 million: $176.40 + $1,463.00. Storage at AWS’s own estimate of 2 bytes a sample, 90 days held, first 10 GB free: $7.58.
- Google Cloud: 43.8 billion samples at $0.06 per million, the rate up to 50 billion. Reads beyond the first million series returned are on top.
- Grafana Cloud: a 30-second scrape bills each series twice, so 1,000,000 billable series. 10,000 included, then 990,000 at $6.50 per thousand, the published starting rate before volume discounts, plus the $19 platform fee and two active users beyond the three included at $8.
