Getting Started
ClusterNest runs managed OpenSearch and Prometheus clusters, handling setup, scaling and maintenance, so you work with the cluster the same way you would with one you run yourself. This page takes you from a new account to a running cluster, and out of the trial.
Create and verify an account
Section titled “Create and verify an account”Sign up or log in to the Console.
- Signed up with Google or GitHub: the account is verified when Google or GitHub has your email address verified. If it doesn’t yet, verify the address there and sign in again.
- Signed up with an email address: open the verification link we email you before launching a cluster.
Every new organization starts on a free trial: ten days, one Basic cluster, and no card needed.
Launch a cluster
Section titled “Launch a cluster”- In the Console sidebar, open OpenSearch or Prometheus and click Launch Cluster.
- Enter a name, then choose the version and the tier.
- Click Create Cluster, and save the credentials it shows you.
- Once the cluster is ready, click its name for its details, including the endpoints to connect to.
From there:
- OpenSearch: Configure centralized logging covers sending logs with Fluent Bit and viewing them in Dashboards. For other uses, the OpenSearch documentation applies to your cluster as it does to any OpenSearch of the same version.
- Prometheus: Getting started with ClusterNest Managed Prometheus covers pushing and querying metrics. The cluster speaks the Prometheus API, so the Prometheus querying documentation covers PromQL beyond that.
Activate your organization
Section titled “Activate your organization”Activating an organization takes it out of trial mode, so you can launch multiple clusters of any size. Activate it in either of two ways:
- Pay by card: click Add Payment Method in the Console sidebar or on the Profile page.
- Pay by invoice: email [email protected] to set up manual invoicing.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- OpenSearch guides: logging, SSO, snapshots and more.
- Prometheus guides: remote write, Grafana, alerting.
- Terraform provider: manage clusters and organizations as code.
- API reference: every endpoint, for scripts and integrations.
