OpenSearch version 3.6 is now available on ClusterNest
Big milestone: OpenSearch 3.6 is live on ClusterNest, and it’s the project’s first Long-Term Support release — 18+ months of guaranteed support, so it’s a solid pick for clusters you don’t want to babysit through every minor upgrade. Beyond the LTS designation, this release ships the new OpenSearch Observability Stack (OpenTelemetry Collector, Data Prepper, Prometheus, and Dashboards bundled together), makes agentic search production-ready, adds 32x default vector compression via Lucene BBQ, and rebuilds the AI chat experience in Dashboards. Full breakdown in the OpenSearch blog.
Both the Console and the Terraform provider already support provisioning 3.6 clusters, so there’s no waiting around to adopt the new LTS line.
Log in to the ClusterNest Console or point your Terraform config at 3.6 whenever you’re ready.
