Managed OpenSearch is live

The service we said we were building in July is open. Managed OpenSearch clusters, priced by tier and node count like our Elasticsearch service, with OpenSearch Dashboards included and a migration we run with you.

What is in it

A cluster is yours: a tier, a node count, and that is the price. Provisioning, version upgrades, automated backups and monitoring are ours. Encryption in transit and at rest and role-based access control are on every cluster.

OpenSearch Dashboards is part of the cluster and not a separate charge. Visualisations, saved searches and alerting are the ones that ship with OpenSearch, under Apache 2.0, which is the point of picking this engine in the first place.

Moving an existing cluster

If you are on our Elasticsearch service, we will do the migration with you rather than hand you a guide. Indices, mappings and settings come across, and we schedule the cutover around your traffic rather than ours.

Elasticsearch clusters keep running. There is no date attached to this and no pressure from us.

Getting started

A new organization gets the quota for one Basic cluster without a payment method, so you can try OpenSearch here on real data before committing to anything. For the same workload the metered services bill by volume, we come out at a fraction of the cost, and the pricing page sets the figures side by side with the basis for each.
