ClusterNest launches managed Elasticsearch

ClusterNest is open. Managed Elasticsearch clusters, sized by tier and node count, with provisioning, upgrades, backups and monitoring on us. You pick two numbers and those two numbers are the bill.

Priced by the machine

Managed search is usually sold by volume, so the invoice moves when your traffic does and nobody can tell you in advance what a quarter costs. We charge for the cluster instead. Choose a tier, choose how many nodes, and the price follows from that.

The practical difference shows up the first time somebody turns on debug logging for an afternoon. It also shows up on the invoice: for the same workload we come out at a fraction of what the metered services charge, and the pricing page sets our figure against theirs with the basis for each one.

What we run for you

Provisioning, version upgrades, automated backups, scaling and monitoring. High availability is the default rather than a tier, and encryption in transit and at rest and role-based access control are on every cluster rather than held back for a larger one.

Support is included rather than sold as a tier, and it runs around the clock for production incidents. A cluster that is down gets a person at three in the morning. An advisory question gets one on a working day. The severity ladder is published so you know which of those you are buying before you need it.

Getting a cluster

You can start without a payment method. A new organization comes with the quota for one Basic cluster, so you can put real data through a real cluster and decide from there. Adding a payment method lifts the quota.
